Financial Controller

Responsible for the financial controls and output of the finance function across Group companies, you will report to the CFO with regards to all financial and accounting activities. Overseeing the Finance Team with day-to-day operations and working closely with senior management on budgets across multiple companies.

Roles & responsiblities

Create the monthly management accounts pack and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
Management of finance team to ensure accuracy of Accounts payable, accounts receivable and General ledger.
Working with Operational heads on reporting and GP targets.
Management and reconciliation of recharge sales invoicing for services provided on managed services.
Ensure up to date accuracy of Balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
Manage and improvements for the accounting systems, including Group systems, Banking software and invoicing.
Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with global government regulations and legislation.
Develop budgets and financial plans for the Group based on accurate historical information to best forecast outcomes. Ensure modelling is dynamic and can be adapted as assumptions change.
Review financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities, and EBITDA improvements.
Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies and accuracy, making corrections where needed.
Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
Statutory returns, HMRC, Office of national statistics.
Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information.

Qualifications & experience required

Qualified Accountant with a minimum of two years PQE.
Proven working experience at Financial controller level: 2 years (preferred)
working with Multi Company accounting: 2 years (preferred)
UK Tax procedures: 2 years (preferred)
Advances Excel Skills, (formulas, Vlookup, pivot tables): 3 years (preferred)
Qualified Accountant with PQE: 2 years (preferred)

Skills required

Strong commercial acumen and communication skills.
Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills, (demonstrated use of formulas Vlookup, pivot tables)
The ability to effectively manage a team and work towards a common goal.
An ability to solve problems in a logical manner, thereby rectifying issues speedily and efficiently.
Excellent experience prioritising conflicting deadlines – including monthly tasks and month end reports.

Additional Responsibilities:

Assisting the CFO on the Group cashflow forecasting.
Assistance in maintenance of Banking facility.
Completion of the year end audit process working with external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant accounting. standards to achieve accounts completion in line with deadlines.
Manage the Groups accounting systems and implement improvements to finance processes to ensure efficiencies.
